ATL To Miami Cruise Ship Jamaica
Cayman Islands Miami To ATL

We cruised the Gulf on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship called Explorer of the Seas. This was our first time on a cruise and this ship was amazing. It dwarfed the other ships in port in Miami! If you want to read more about the ship just click here.

Explorer of the Seas

This is a picture of the Royal Promenade in the center of the ship. A lot of action happened here and our stateroom had a view to the Promenade below.
This is Adam and Kelly mugging for a photo while they were exploring the ship.
We dined in the main dining room our first night on board and had our waiters take this picture. We dined here each night of our cruise, and yes, the food is absolutely amazing. Adam couldn't decide on which desert to have so our waiter brought him one of each! We all took advantage of their hospitality the rest of the trip!
After dinner, we decided to catch a show in the ship's theater. It was a show led by our cruise director and showcased several acts that were featured later in the cruise.
We also decided to try out the nine-hole miniature golf course as well. The wind was very strong that night so strong that the golf balls wouldn't actually stop moving. Kelly swears that's why she lost her orange golf ball in the Gulf of Mexico! FORE!!!!
Our first night on the ship, there was a Mardi Gras style parade in the Royal Promenade. Here is a picture of the parade that we took from our stateroom.
Another shot of the parade...
Here we are on formal night of our cruise. The featured entree that night was lobster tail and shrimp. Everyone had the lobster (and seconds!) except for Kelly. She prefers her food to have four legs!
After the formal dinner, the captain held a toast in the Promenade where free drinks were served. Cheers!
Here is a picture from the ship's theater. We stopped in and caught a show by Purdue University's Jazz Band.
You all have heard the rumors and yes they are true. Each night after dinner, you return to your stateroom to find a towel animal wearing your sunglasses.
This is Kelly and Adam on the bow of the ship while it was in port in George Town of the Cayman Islands.
Adam decided to sneak away and take a picture of Kelly taking a picture of Albanie and Tim. Say that ten times fast...
During the later days of the cruise, we actually got to see all of the dining crew that had been working so hard to feed us. They are standing on the grand staircase in the dining hall. You can also see the three levels of the dining area in this picture.
We ate our dinner during the main seating at 6:00, so we usually had time to take a walk around the decks of the ship afterwards. This is Kelly during one of those times that we were watching a magnificent sunset.
Here we both are!
On the 3rd day of the cruise, the dining staff presented the 'Gala Buffet' at midnight. We were allowed to view it from 12:00 until 12:30 then we were allowed to eat it.
Everything you see there is edible. It was amazing.
Desserts as far as the eye can see...
Here is Kelly and Albanie chilling in the stateroom. We had adjoining rooms so it made them seem a little bit bigger.
Here we are on the deck of the ship playing shuffleboard. It was the Kirkley's versus the Campbell's. I'm not going to mention who won because it was just a friendly game.
Here is a picture of our wait staff carrying their national flags. They gathered here on the grand staircase after parading through the dining rooms.
This was our last night on the ship and we had to say goodbye to our dear friends Vinito and Rizaldi. They were our waiters on the cruise and took great care of us.
Here we are in the Royal Promenade striking a pose.
